How to Save TikTok Videos on iPhone (Step by Step)

Save a public TikTok video to your iPhone or iPad in under a minute, using just Safari. No app, no account and no screen recording.

Want to keep a TikTok video on your iPhone so you can watch it offline or send it to a friend? You do not need a special app or a screen recording. You only need Safari and the link to the video.

What you need

  • An iPhone or iPad with Safari (any recent iOS version works)
  • A public TikTok video. Videos from private accounts cannot be downloaded.

Open the video in the TikTok app, tap the Share arrow on the right-hand side, then tap Copy link.

Step 2: Paste it into the downloader

Open the TikTok downloader in Safari. Paste the link into the box and tap Fetch. After a moment you will see the video title and a list of qualities.

Step 3: Choose a quality and download

Pick the quality you want. If you just want to listen to a sound, choose the audio-only option when it is offered. Then tap Download. Safari may ask you to confirm, so tap Download again.

Step 4: Find the video and add it to Photos

The file is saved in the Downloads folder of the Files app. To move it into your photo library:

  1. Open the Files app and tap Downloads.
  2. Tap the video to open it.
  3. Tap the Share icon, then choose Save Video.

The video now appears in Photos, and you can edit it or share it like any other clip.

If the download does not work

  • Make sure the video is public. If you cannot watch it in a private browser window, it cannot be downloaded.
  • Try again in a minute. TikTok sometimes limits requests from web servers for a short time.
  • Use Safari rather than an in-app browser, which can block downloads.

Our guide to fixing links that will not download covers more causes.

A note on creators' rights

Saving a video to watch offline is one thing. Re-uploading someone else's video or using it to make money is another. Keep downloads for personal use and credit the creator if you share.
